AG Players Report Ahead of Pre-Season, Enter ‘The Bubble’
Today, the 2021 AGs reported to Austin a week ahead of the start of the MLR pre-season. Before players are able to begin training, they must undergo a second round of COVID-19 screening and return negative tests.
The AG Rugby organization is committed to keeping our community safe and halting the spread of COVID-19. With the help of Ascension Seton, the AGs are going to great lengths to maintain a COVID-free bubble.
Players and staff complete temperature checks, symptom questionnaires, and PCR COVID tests. Out-of-town players will face one more quarantine period, and when cleared, join their pod for the start of training on February 8th.
Terrific planning from our Ascension Seton athletic trainers, Colby Thompson and Kyle Lucas, led to the seamless execution of our COVID screening protocol.
Throughout the 8-week pre-season and 18-week regular season, our players and staff will undergo frequent testing to minimize risks to the team. Diligent monitoring and contact tracing will be carried out beyond the season’s end to maintain a COVID-free bubble.
