Austin Elite Rugby Signs Dominique Bailey from Davenport University
ROUND ROCK (TX) – Austin Elite Rugby announces the signing of back-rower Dominique Bailey for the 2019 Major League Rugby season.
The Davenport University standout began playing rugby at 15 years old earning his first Rugby Championship in 2011 with his high school, Eastern High in Louisville, Kentucky. Growing up he was quite the all-around athlete, committing himself to football, track, and wrestling.
In 2012, Bailey earned a rugby scholarship to Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Here is where his knowledge and love for the game began to grow and he knew he wanted to pursue rugby at the next level. Earning many All-American honorable mentions and call-ups for both D1A 15’s and 7’s – Bailey was a key player for Davenport and their successes from 2012-2017. Since earning his BA in Marketing, he played for Tiger Rugby where he made an appearance at Rugby Town 7’s and later joined with the Chicago Lions.
Of his signing, Bailey says, “I’m simply privileged to be playing professional rugby with Austin Elite where I can continue to chase my dreams and focus in on my growth and development as a player.”
