Potu Leavasa to join Austin Gilgronis.
Austin Gilgronis is excited to announce the signing of Potu Leavasa.
Born in 1996 in Samoa, Potu moved to New Zealand with his family, where he attended St John’s College an all-boys school in Hamilton, New Zealand.
In 2013, Potu was selected to play for Auckland U20, a representative rugby team of the Auckland Rugby Football Union. 2014 saw Potu, play in the Jock Hobbs Cup, the tournament showcases the best up and coming talent in New Zealand.
2015 saw Potu, jump the Tasman Sea and joined the Melbourne Rebels U20 squad. Potu, moved up the coast to join Warringah Rugby Club based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, where he has been playing in the Shute Shield a premier grade club tournament in New South Wales.
Potu, was selected for Samoa A, a national representative rugby union team of the Samoan Rugby Union. He was part of the squad that saw Samoa, win the World Rugby Americas Pacific Challenge in 2018. Potu was selected to participate in the World Rugby Pacific Combine, which focused on identifying and developing players.
