Simon Courcoul joins Austin Elite Rugby
Austin Elite Rugby is pleased to announce the signing of Simon Courcoul. The U20 French prop will be joining the team for the 2019 season and beyond.
Hailing from Laval, France, Simon began his professional rugby career at the ASM Clermont Academy. During his time at the academy, Simon was selected to join the U19 French squad, but impressed the U20 coaches, which enabled him to join the U20 squad and win the U20 VI national trophy. He also represented France at the Junior World Cup in New Zealand.
After his time at the academy, he joined the Pro D2 side, Aviron Bayonnais, and then went on to play for Narbonne.
“Bringing young international players that can share their experience and grow with Major League Rugby is very important for us,”said Alain Hyardet, Head Coach. “We are building a long-term strategic plan and Simon is the perfect fit.”
The 22-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the front row, while also having abilities to play loose and tight head.
“Coming to the USA and being part of Major League Rugby is an amazing opportunity and I look forward to playing for Austin Elite Rugby”quoted Simon Courcoul.
