Sebastian De Chaves #4

De Chavez brings a decade of professional experience before arriving to Major League Rugby.

De Chaves is originally from South Africa and represented his home country at the 2010 IRB Junior World Championship in Argentina. After making his debut with the Golden Lions in 2012, he moved to Europe to briefly play for Mont-de-Marsan in the French Top 14.  In 2013 he landed in the Premiership with Leicester Tigers and spent three seasons at Welford Road before switching to London Irish in 2016. With Leicester Tigers, he went on to win the Players’ Player of the Season.

Sebastian is qualified to represent South Africa, Portugal, and England. He collected honors at the U20s level with the Springboks junior team and played in their Junior World Championships in 2010, beating England and taking third place in the playoffs.
